Are you ready for the Atlantic Swimming Adventure?

Your itinerary

Day 1

Welcome to the Atlantic Pearl

We will meet at Madeira Airport. After arriving, you will be transported to the hotel where you will do the check-in and meet your guides and fellow swimmers for a safety briefing and discussion about the week ahead.

We will then hold an acclimatisation swim nearby, which will be followed by a traditional madeiran group dinner at the hotel.

Day 2

The Lunar Paradise

After breakfast, our first swim will be at the eastern end of the island, at Ponta de Lourenço. It’s an excellent and exciting way to start the trip, as we are surrounded by the imposing cliffs that dominate the volcanic landscape in this area.

The second swim of the day will begin with a more relaxed swim with 2km along the marine park of the Garajau Partial Nature Reserve. The view from here is unrivalled as the entire Bay of Funchal is laid out before us.

Day 3

Discover Desertas Islands

We travel out the marina of Funchal in a genuine wooden gullet towards Desertas Islands Natural Reserve. On Deserted Grand Island we will anchor in a shelter bay, Dock, in front of the warden's research station that belongs to the Madeira Natural Park. There you will have the opportunity to swim in very enjoyable clear waters.

A nice and traditional lunch will be served on board, followed by pleasant guided tour on the island. We will then return to Madeira, experiencing observations of the dolphins and whales.

Day 4

Natural Volcanic Pools

This day is significantly different from the rest of the trip, as we travel to Porto Moniz, on the extreme northwest coast of Madeira Island, for a unique experience along its rocky slopes.

The afternoon is spent in the small village of Achadas da Cruz whose visit will be made through a beautiful cable car ride towards the sea. On the way back to Funchal, we have a break from travel for a relaxed swim in the cooler waters of the natural volcanic pools, the region's ex-libris.

Day 5

Touch the Sky

Starting at Ponta do Sol, we complete a 3km swim in the hottest municipality of the island and where the sun shines for more hours.

After lunch, we take a cable car to Fajãs do Cabo Girão, located on the slopes of the highest promontory in Europe. The views 580 meters above the Atlantic Ocean are truly breathtaking. From here, there is an optional short coastal swim in the calm turquoise waters.

Day 6

Goodbye Madeira

After breakfast, there will be time for a last morning swim in the Atlantic, before the trip is over.

After one last toast, we’ll pack our bags and go back to the Airport.
